Cyber Attacks Expected to Boom

This New York Times article discusses how industry observers expect cyber attacks to boom in the upcoming year.  The article is interesting because it discusses the many lawsuits that get brought when a company is attacked and personal information is lost or stolen.  It points out the need for cyber insurance and the failure of many companies to buy the product.

At the American Bar Association's Tort,Trial & Insurance Practice Section's Fall Meeting in Seattle, this topic was discussed at the CLE presentation as part of the TIPS Disaster Initiative.  Additionally, TIPS Disaster Initiative podcasts discuss cyber terrorism and the need for cyber insurance.  You can find this information at the TIPS Disaster Initiative website here.  We have a number of great programs coming up in February, May, and August 2012 covering disaster preparedness and response.  Please visit our website to learn more.
