NY Officials Begin Preparing for Hurricane Irene

Office of Emergency Management Commissioner Joseph F.   1. Irene has come and gone and the various state and local agencies have had their disaster preparedness plans tested to the extreme. Now they are into phase two of the response and recovery. NYC came out of this pretty well. Subways are allegedly back. Commuter rail is spotty. Electric is pretty good in NYC, some outages in the suburbs. Our TIPS Disaster Preparedness and Response Initiative will cover preparedness and response to natural and man-made disasters. Join us.
